I just recently turned 36. I had such an amazing 35th year..I thought how would 36 top it? I have determined that my 36th year would be a year of trying to new things in my life.
I need to map out a game plan but I do know I want to try something new at least once a month for the entire year...so far:
In June: (June 13th is my birthday)
1. Attended Big Ticket Festival in Ionia, MI for 2 days...I took my oldest son on friday night, Devin...we had such a bonding moment together..I am so GLAD I did that with him. On Saturday I took our 2nd oldest son, Landon. Neither Devin or Landon had attended concerts before..so this was brand new to them as well..for me I had never attended so many concerts over a 2 day period... you just take your chairs and move around and listen to the bands that you enjoy..they had a ton of stuff for the boys to enjoy as well! It was amazing..I hope to take my entire family there next year...
2. Also in June..a friend of mine had free tickets to see New Kids on the Block in concert..it was very last minute..and I thought why not? 3 of us gals went and we are all the same age...we decided to dress up funky as we could from the 80's and 90's when they were popular...it was fun...we really enjoyed ourselves...I loved observing the crowd..they still have major groupies...and it was fun to watch 40 something year old men doing all kinds of moves..I enjoyed laughing...:)
July-
1. Now that our family is debt free..life is so much more enjoyable....we no longer have to tent camp as a cheap family vacation..we were able to rent a house for the first time ever...this place was AMAZING! I will try to post pictures of it later..we went 8 hours north from our house way up in the "UP" as those of us from Michigan call it...I had always wanted to see where my husband, Jim had attended school..so we drove 3 more hours north from our cabin to spend the day at Michigan Tech. It was a nice campus..so much smaller than what I expected..I knew it would not be as large as Michigan State University where I attended but still very small..lol Jim enjoyed showing me all the locations he lived during his college years..I was surprised there were so many places..as I only lived in 2 locations during college..
The house/cabin was in the middle of NO WHERE...in Rapid River, MI..seriously..there was NO ADDRESS...it was ran on a generator..for our electrial needs..it was amazing..we did not leave the house for 2 days straight as we just wanted to be together as a family..we did not see a single human..we LOVED it!! The drive-way to the house was almost a mile from the road..and it was right on the river..you just walk out the door a few feet to the river..beautiful!!!
2. On the way home from up north one of my very good friends, Alicia just opened up a health store..where she offers different services and supplements etc..in Gaylord, MI. So we stopped there to visit her...believe it or not..I had always wanted to try a Colonic for the last 10 years..I never have...so I decided to sign up for an appointment..it was interesting and I felt very clean after..LOL I would recommended it.
So far those are my new experiences for the year..I will keep you updated on the rest of the year.. :)
